REGISTER OR PRE-REGISTER NOW: VOTE
Voting is an essential way to flex our power. Mobilize your vote, stand up and be heard at the polls.
Are you 16 or 17 and excited to become a voter? You can pre-register to vote in California if you:
- A United States citizen and a resident of California,
- Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony (for more information please see the Secretary of State’s Voting Rights: Persons with a Criminal History), and
- Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court (for more information, please see Voting Rights: Persons Subject to Conservatorship)
- When you turn 18 years old, the county elections office will mail a confirmation postcard to you stating that your voter registration is now active.
